The series is published by Peeters, a family-owned publishing house that is based in the old university town of Louvain, Belgium. Additional offices are located in Paris and Bristol, Connecticut.
Since 1857, Peeters have produced some 5,000 titles, mainly in the fields of theology, philosophy, and Oriental studies. Peeters do not outsource their typesetting, printing, and binding, which are done in-house. The production value of Peeters books stands out in an age when even major publishers produce volumes that look as though they had been made in a copy store. About 200 new titles are released each year.
